The starting grenade launcher does not deliver enough damage even to single mobs. How do I level my tank now? Should I use melee to start and then LOM? Really would like some advice here. I miss playing.

Mobs weapon animation
Hi there,
I wonder if this bug is happening for everyone or just some people depending on settings or used graphic card.
For me, I cannot see shooting animation at many mobs. I know this is a common issue but I have seen mobs on youtube videos actually shooting, which dont shoot for me.
E.g. Aggressors, Warbots, hover bots and many other mobs just do dmg to me, but I would not even see what kind of damage they are doing as I cannot see the weapon being used. I dont see any laser at a Warbot, or any gatling being used at an agressor. I have to imagine it actually to give it a sense ;)
Is there anything I can do on my side with any GFX setting or is this just a bug ?

[R#222] spell buffs not lasting long enough
I am a PPU and at OP wars 1/5 people have been zoning up and instantly their fresh 3 minute PAD buffs have been wearing off (showing almost ready to wear off) the second they zone up. Plus, I noticed this issue in outzone 7 when I buffed a friend and he said it was wearing off nearly immediately.
Perhaps unrelated or perhaps related: zoning can cause buffs to be stripped.

John Wick has said stealth is wearing off early too. Not sure if that would be related but throwing that here too

AE Damage Nerf
Just why.
It makes WoCing a PE even fucking harder.
It gives everybody an unfair advantage that leveled before the change.
It turns off new players and veterans as well.
It drives down the Population.
It ruins everything.
Why would you do this?

Basic question to some ppu spells
Hi,
I am currently leveling my hybrid monk and I have about 120 APu and like to skill more PPU to be not fully defenseless.
Now, I am confused about the PPU spells. Like we have a normal heal and a sanctum heal. Sanctum always seems to be a sphere. I dont feel like sanctum is healing myself. Does the sphere with sanctum mean its only working for players around me in the sphere and its not healing myself ? Same for deflector and deflector sanctum e.g
Also, what do the Anti spells mean ? Are this PvP spells, e.g. Anti heal prevents my opponent from healing ?
Can you give me some hint on how much in PPU makes sense as a hybrid ? Guess i need to cap out to be able to maybe use a blessed heal, but if thats not possible, at least I like to use some deflectors to be able to sustain more hits.

Update- Neocron Issues since recent patches
Update on Previous Post -Removed fixed issues.... Added new issues that have come to light. Old thread was closed so had to create a new one.
Just want to highlight apparent Issues since implementation of Patch Level 217 on the Retail Server.
-Runner positioning issues. Runners warping on screen. Stuttered movement/ Character desyncs.
-Stealth animation not working consistently
-Buffs and drugs stacks randomly falling off when zoning up from outpost underground where they are more than 4 runners in the sector
-Meele Tank's showing as invisbile at times where you are only able to see their weapon, making it difficult to aim them consitenly
-Damage irregularity with the Kami drone family
-Drone positioning bug where you are unable to see an attacking drone, leaving you with no ability to avoid being damaged
-Delayed damage registration Runners dying 5 seconds+ after last burst with CS for example.
-Use of alt key now forces runner to walk instead of sprint
-Silent damage/no animation from COP/Storm bots- Inconsistent- Majority of times you are unable to see any animation
-Resists not in line with armour values- PL 200
-Synamptic impairment applied when trying to genrep without being ported to specified location on occasions
The benefits you have brought to the game with those patch changes have been outweighed by the negatives highlighted above. It would make more sense to roll back to a more stable retail client until these are resolved as they are collectively outweighing any positive changes. If you disagree please state, the benefits that outweigh those issues.

New user impression and bugs
I got back to Neocron (after several years) to take a look. But all I saw was bugs. Bugs seen in the first hour after installing the game:
* the main website (www.neocron-game.com) register and login occasionally throws exception errors
* the main website login spontaneously logged out after login, with session timeout error
* new characters can't go to Area MC5 (using the door in MC5 Command) [SERIOUS]
* characters may get stuck in sync permanently
* the file integrity check occasionally stops working
* unverified forum members can't see posts or use the forum search, that can even be seen/used by public

Location maps improvement

Map in the game is useless feature. Not accurate, without any meaningful markers. In city we have NavRay that guide us by hand to the point of interest, but outside we only have small map with smeared up texture. Dungeons dont have any map at all. While that increase joy of exploration a bit, confuses the hell out of me when I need to get out. Even starter sewers can be confusing as fk and that is not good for new players.
What can be done
Existing maps need to be redrawed and simply be bigger. Best example for simplicity and functionality I can find is in Deus Ex.

City need to have multiple maps for each floors, that change according on player altitude. Entrances to locations are marked as well as gravilifts. It would be great if it would have shops marked as well.
Dungeon maps dont need to be extremely complex. Just simple outline, with marked entrance, doors and major obstacles.

As for outside (sector maps), I think Skyforge style satellite-like maps would be great, with location names written on them.

New players tend to get lost and often get poitlessly killed or annoyed because they could not find exit. Sure, NavRay can show arrow to the exit, but when you have a clear map how big location is, you can at least estimate how far you can delve into. Same thing is with wasteland map - you can say from word map that some location is there (like point red) but you only see meaningless green dot when you actually are in the zone.
How much work does it need?
I don't know how much different areas are in the game. Some layouts are the same, reducing overall work to be done. Single area shouldn't take more than 20 minutes to redraw, when scale and reference images are provided. If dev tool map app works in the way I think it is, overhead screenshot would great help, for detailing we can use drones on Vedeena.

Hey everyone.
I've not shown my face in almost a decade probably, but after playing some old games that have been reworked for vive, it really brings a new feeling and perspective. I was wondering if anybody has had luck or trick for getting NC working on VR at the very least :)

Installer not working
So I downloaded the game from the official website twice, downloaded it completely and tried running it in every form of compatibility mode, tried using run as admin, tried restarting my computer, I've tried everything I can think of, when I double click the installer/run as admin, it doesn't do anything, nothing at all. It sits there doing nothing, the mouse cursor shows that there is something loading but nothing ever pops up no matter what I do it just sits there not installing.
So any support you could give me would be lovely because this game looks fantastic but I can't even install it.

Increased crash rate in vehicles
Travelling anywhere in a vehicle (ground & air) can be infuriating.
Whether flying or by car there seems to be an increased crash rate when zoning which usually ends up with you loosing half your health / outright dying then having a vehicle lost somewhere in the zone you have to go back and collect. Meaning your either had to walk part of the way anyway or waste another vehicle getting back to the first one.
Vehicles should be a great advantage this game has but instead most vets avoid due to not wanting to waste their time dying and randomly leave their belongings around the wastelands.
Please;
1 - Fix cause of increased crash rate
2 - Let vehicles be despawned from any ASG in the world

Sound & grey screen bugs (Vehicles)
Hey NST,
Whilst being a gunner of a rhino last night I experienced the sound bug (all noises getting randomly super loud) & the grey screen bug where all your screen goes grey and only a zone / alt + e fixes it.
Alt + e did not resolve the grey screen bug like it does when your on foot.
I jumped out of the rhino and that resolved both. I thought great, jumped back in only to have the same 2 bugs affect me again. Jumped out again - fine, jumped back in - bugs again.
Seems entering a rhino as the gunner (maybe all vehicles though?) can be a toggle for these bugs similar to zoning.
Shortly after us both zoning in the rhino the same 2 bugs hit me. Both times they started it was when I alt tabbed to another client.

having troubles
Okay... got home 2 days ago i booted up pc, opened NC it loaded to the login screen i chose a character and game closed. tried many things, finally downloaded game from site again, clean install. game worked fine, got home today same thing all over again, this is only a recent issue. no changes to my pc (i mean none last loaded program was nc) any help would be appreciated

New User: Client Crashes on Startup
I discovered this game almost three days ago; I've yet to be able to log into the game. Whenever I start the client, either of them, a black window opens in the top-left corner of my monitor, then promptly closes just as quickly. I've tried absolutely everything I can think of, and some things suggested by others. I have no idea what to do now. So, here is the contents of some of my files. Weapon attachments
Let's get straight to the point. Weapon attachments are useless and are waste a slot. Only thing that can be worth slotting is only laser pointer.
1.Make that attachments use own slots.
Slots are precious. Should be used only to enhance weapon characteristics. Attachments are installed on the weapon, not replacing parts, so they should use their own slots
2.Some attachments could use a rework so they could be worth using
Proposals here:
-Flashlight: there are no areas in game dark enough to use this. Also there is Halogen Flashlight tool. How to make flashlight worth using then? Simple: make it reveal stealthed units. As long as you flash at stealthed person, it appear less transparent. It might stun PvE mobs when flashed at very close range as well.
-Silencer: Very limited usage, for weapons at very long range. But from that range, you wont hear sound anyway. How to make it worth using? Make silencer reduce damage and aiming speed (even if in real life it actually increase bullet velocity), but allow low-tech weapons to shoot while stealthed. Might be controversial, but if we have flashlight attachment stated above, it should not be much a problem. Also silencer installed on Sniper Rifle should not have penalties and increase damage instead.
-Scope: This is ok. But it could increase damage to upper body as "virtual headshots" to be even more worthwhile. Also we need some scope visuals.
